White – Cream flowers
The photos are organized alphabetically by family and then by scientific name. Click on a photo to go to the page covering that plant and its closest relatives.
Because of the many flowers in the sunflower family (Asteraceae), their pictures are further sorted into three groups: 1 Daisy-like, with both disk and ray flowers; 2 Dandelion-like, with ligules and no central disk; and 3 Other, including thistles, discoid flowers and miscellaneous. This keeps similar species together.
In some cases, members of a genus are distinguished by features other than their flowers. Examples are popcornflowers (Plagiobothrys & Cryptantha), morning-glories (Calystegia et al), and manzanita (Arctostaphylos). In these cases, only one or two examples appear on this page, but they will take you to the page with more species and more detailed treatment.
